US Embassy - Interfaith Sungkai Celebration

Last Wednesday, I had the honor of attending an interfaith Sungkai celebration with Her Excellency Caryn R. McClelland and other distinguished guests. I was delighted to meet with religious leaders of different faiths in Brunei, as well as the Ambassador, Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Erywan, inspiring individuals, and U.S Embassy officers. We came together to enjoy meaningful conversations and embrace the spirit of inclusivity.

At my table, I had the pleasure of discussing the benefits of inclusive education in Australia, where learners of all abilities are welcomed and supported. I was also moved by the story of a Starbucks in Jakarta, Indonesia that is dedicated to serving the Deaf, hard of hearing, and sign language communities. It was truly inspiring to see how inclusivity can take many forms and make a positive impact on society.

Apart from the stimulating discussions, I must admit that I was particularly impressed by the size of the prawns and the delicious food. Overall, it was an unforgettable evening filled with meaningful conversations and unforgettable experiences.
