Motivational Talk at Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong

The Chinese idiom, "When you drink water, think of its source," has served as a gentle and constant reminder from my mentor throughout my life's journey. This saying, passed on to him by his esteemed mentor, highlights the importance of recognizing the roots and foundations of our achievements, rather than taking them for granted.

Recently, I had the opportunity to commence my first motivational talk of the year at Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong (PTET). This event holds particular significance for me, as PTET is not only where I pursued my A-level studies, but also where I embarked on my career as an Economics teacher. This institution has been a steadfast supporter of my journey in both environmental advocacy and entrepreneurship.

Reflecting on the past 12 years, I've distilled my experiences into three key lessons:

  1. Cultivate a clear vision.
  2. Set SMART goals.
  3. Pursue them relentlessly.

While it's understandable that you might not have a concrete idea of what your future should look like, it's crucial to have at least a sense of direction. The sooner you can decide on this, the quicker you'll be able to develop the necessary skills required to advance further.

The heart of my talk was about the power of visualizing dreams and the courage to step outside one's comfort zone. I am eagerly looking forward to witnessing more students from PTET flourish and thrive in their respective fields!
