YB Chong emphasized the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on society, particularly ChatGPT, an intelligent chatbot capable of generating various types of content. She pointed out the challenges in maintaining academic integrity in the era of AI, including plagiarism and distinguishing AI-generated content from authentic work.

YB Chong urged the Ministry of Education to examine AI, consider approving large language models like ChatGPT in the national educational context, and develop measures to prevent AI model misuse and academic dishonesty.

The Ministry of Education acknowledges the widespread and significant use of this emerging technology. The Ministry is closely monitoring developments in AI technology while being prepared to take necessary measures against academic dishonesty. Although ChatGPT presents both opportunities and challenges, its accuracy is not always perfect, and human judgment is still required. The Ministry recognizes the need to adapt to technological advancements, but before implementation, it is crucial to establish robust policies, guidelines, and ethical, responsible AI use.
